Transformative Leadership Development for College Undergraduates: An AI Success Story

Abstract

This article provides a retrospective analysis of a multiyear effort to develop and implement a leadership development program for college undergraduates at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. The effort was carried out by the author (who served as director of Rider’s Center for the Development of Leadership Skills (CDLS) from 2003-2006) with help from faculty, staff and students across the university, as well as external executives and trainers.

Carol Watson, Ph.D., is a professor of management at Rider University. She holds an MA in psychology from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in social/organizational psychology from Columbia University and an Ed.S. in counseling from Rider University. She has published several book chapters and articles on leadership and negotiation.
