Experimental learning through improved participation: How to best ensure real student participation and more flexible learning in the education system?

Part 1: PREPARING FOR AI IN SCHOOLS

Abstract

Knowledge promotion, a reform initiated by the Ministry of Education and Research, is an ambitious program to give everyone “the same opportunities to develop their abilities.” Since students are the primary users of schools, greater student involvement was an important goal. But how to get them involved, and equally important, how to make sure their ideas and suggestions were heard by their teachers and administration? A project in Vestfold County introduced a process based on Appreciative Inquiry in 2001. The result: energy, enthusiasm and Bright Eyes.
