Building Capacity and Connection

Intergenerational Community Dialogue in the USA

Abstract

ABSTRACT An innovative dialogue program grounded in Appreciative Inquiry and Dialogue honored the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Designed to build community capacity and connection, it also created a dialogic ‘place’ and conversational ‘space’ where participants could talk candidly about sensitive subjects of race and politics. Participants learned how to work in community to keep Dr. King’s dream alive.
